Aluminum milling cnc (a.k.a. powder and wire feed systems or PMCS and PWFS) are used to prepare aluminum alloys in the form of ingots, billets and extrusions in order to create finished parts. Powder metallurgy is one of the most important techniques for production of aluminum alloys
Aluminum mills for powder metallurgy can be divided into three categories according to the amount of workpiece material processed at one time
Billet mills - a single piece of workpiece is fed into it, which cuts off a certain volume from it
Extrusion mills - a single piece of workpiece is fed through it, which forms an extruded product out of it
Ingot mills - several pieces of workpiece are fed through them, which are joined together by means of welding or brazing while they are being cut off from their parent material by means of cutting methods known as slitting.
