Making Aluminium Anodized Parts
Anodizing is a process that increases the hardness and strength of aluminium. It also makes it much more resistant to corrosion. The anodic oxide layer can be seen under a microscope as a dark blue or gray layer. This layer is what makes aluminium so strong and stable, but it can also be damaged by acidic substances like salt water, chlorides and sulphides
In this article I will show you how to anodize aluminum parts with an electrolytic process or with a hot bath method. Both methods are simple, fast and safe. In this article we will only talk about making anodized aluminium parts from scratch but if you want to make aluminum parts from kits or other metal parts I suggest buying them already anodized or powder coated in another way because that way they are already protected against corrosion by their coating (unless they are painted).
