CNC or Computer Numerical Control is a computer-based system that allows for complex movements to be made using programmed instructions, like an industrial CNC machine
CNC stands for Computer Numerical Control. Basically it's a computer that does the same thing as an industrial CNC machine. It uses a mechanical device called a control center (or a control head) which has a set of axes and tooling mounted on it to move along the x, y, and z axis. The computer then interprets the commands sent from the user and sends these commands to the tooling via servo motors
The advantage of having an industrial CNC machine over making these movements manually is speed; you can make more complicated movements with greater accuracy and precision than what you could do yourself unless you are very skilled at machining or have access to one of these machines at your local metal shop or foundry.
