Tolerances for cutting metal tubing with CNC machin
As a general rule, the smaller the diameter of metal tubing you are cutting, the tighter your tolerances need to be. For example, if you are cutting steel pipe that is 1/8 inch in diameter, your tolerance will be much tighter than if you were cutting 1/4 inch diameter pipe. The tighter your tolerance needs to be, the more accurate your machine will have to be. The following table shows some typical tolerances and their corresponding classes of aluminum tubing:
