If you're looking to build an aluminum part and have absolutely zero experience with machining aluminum, then I can help. This past weekend, I got together with a few friends and we built some aluminum parts for their car. Learning about CNC and machining the parts was a great experience; the knowledge I gained will be useful for future projects
The first step was to find a design that we wanted to build. We decided on a set of exhaust tips for our car because it's something we could easily do ourselves and it would look nice in our engine bay. The next step was finding some CAD files online that looked like they'd be good candidates for cutting on CNC machinery. After looking around for awhile, I found one that had been done by someone else and thought it would work well as a starting point for my own designs.
