The lava which flows from a volcano is a very rich source of metals. In fact, some of the most important and valuable metals in history were forged from the molten rock that erupted from volcanoes
Gold - Gold is one of the most common elements on Earth and can be found in many different places, including volcanoes. The amount of gold found in a volcanic eruption depends on where the eruption occurs and how much lava flows out (how hot it is)
Silver - Silver also occurs naturally on Earth, but it is more easily found at volcanoes. Silver occurs as an alloy with other metals because it's hard to extract pure silver from its ore
Platinum - Platinum is another element which occurs naturally on Earth, but it's also easier to find at volcanoes than silver or gold. Platinum is mined in South Africa, Russia and Australia, but the largest known deposits are located in Tanzania and Mozambique.
