Metals are the building blocks of modern life. We use them to make everything from cars to iPhones, and they're used in almost every industry. But how did metals get their start
There have been times when metals were forged. They were formed from different materials by manipulating and heating them. We use the same method today to make many things out of metal. There are a few words that are used for describing the process of making other things out of metals, but you probably wouldn't know them because they don't appear in dictionaries. I'm going to tell you about the history of these words and help explain how they are used today
In ancient times, people didn't have access to iron or steel, so they had to improvise when making tools or weapons. Some tried melting stones together or pounding iron ore into shape with hammers and anvils (like what we do today). Others made shaped metal objects using a hammer and anvil (the process we still use today).
