A Short History Of Metal Forge
Forges were originally made of wood and were used to craft weapons and tools. They are still being used today, but with more advanced equipment than ever before. There are dozens of steel forging shops operating today, using various machines to create thousands of different type of metals in a variety of processes. But it wasn't always this way. Before the Industrial Revolution, iron was mostly used for forging weapons or tools like axes or chisels 〞 not everyday items like knives and forks
The Industrial Revolution changed all that as it brought about many new metalworking technologies such as steam power, which allowed factories to operate 24 hours per day, seven days per week; the invention of cast iron; and eventually the development of steel alloys that could be produced faster and more efficiently than other metals such as wrought iron or brass.
