Building a Handmade Metal Forge

Metal forging is a manufacturing process in which metal is heated and placed under pressure to produce parts with a desired shape. Forging can be done using a variety of tools and machines, such as hammers and presses, to shape the metal into the desired shape. The processes of forging are as below:

3/ The metal may be reheated and reshaped multiple times to achieve the desired shape and properties.

4/ The metal is cooled and hardened by quenching it in water or oil.

The forged metal parts normally need further processed by machining, heat treatment, or other methods to achieve the final desired properties and finish.
