The sand-casting method is one of the simplest and most cost effective methods of producing forged anvils. It requires only a few basic tools and materials, but it does require some skill in using them. The sand-cast method uses a mixture of water-based clay and sand to produce the final product. This mixture is poured into an empty mold and allowed to dry. Once it has hardened, it is broken out of the mold by hand. Then, the piece can be cleaned up with a file or other suitable tools, as needed
