What You Nee

You need a melting pot, or a ceramic bowl that can withstand high temperatures and doesn't conduct electricity (such as a ceramic casserole dish). You also need a way to heat your metal up so that it melts into the container. This could be with an oven or even hot water

How It Work

The metal is placed in the container and then heated up to around 800 degrees Fahrenheit (425 degrees Celsius). The container is then placed in an oven or on top of your stove burner for about 15 minutes until the metal reaches its melting point of 1,064 degrees Fahrenheit (648 degrees Celsius).

4/ The metal is cooled and hardened by quenching it in water or oil.

The forged metal parts normally need further processed by machining, heat treatment, or other methods to achieve the final desired properties and finish.
