In a tinkerer's forum, I read an article about metal forging knives. A friend mentioned it to me and at the time I wasn't able to find much information about it. When I started buying parts for my forge, I did some research and came across tons of information about it 〞 and it sounded great! So here's my take on how to use your metal for forging knives
1) The first thing you need to do is make sure that the blade is sharp enough. This can be done by using a file or a grinder to sharpen the knife. If your knife has teeth on the edge of it, then you will want to make sure that they are as short as possible so that they don't stick out too much when you're cutting material with them
2) After sharpening your blade, you need to clean off any traces of oil or grease from its surface with alcohol or acetone (depending on what kind of metal you're working with). This will help prevent rusting and corrosion while you're working with your knife later on
3) Once your blade has been cleaned off, coat it with lubricant such as olive oil or graphite powder (which works best
