What is a metal forge and how it is used in metallurgy
The metal forge is a device used to heat and melt metal. It consists of an enclosure, usually made of cast iron, lined with refractory bricks, with a firebox at one end. The firebox is heated by coal or coke, which burns inside the box and provides the heat to the cast iron enclosure. The molten metal is poured into a mould in the enclosure and allowed to cool. The cooled metal is then removed from the mould and cleaned before being reheated in the firebox and working on it.
