I know – it's a bit of a hard question. What metal should you choose? Iron and steel are the most common materials used in the forge, but there are many other metals worth considering. One of the best things about forging is that you'll never have to pay for equipment (unless you decide to) 〞 it's all part of the fun and adventure! There are several different types of metals available so let's take a look at our options
Iro
In this case, we're talking about forged iron. The word iron is actually used interchangeably with steel because they are both made from carbon 〞 i.e., they're both made from iron ore. However, there are some differences between these two metals that make them suitable for different purposes (and therefore we will look at them separately). Forged iron is stronger than regular steel because it has been hardened by heating and quenching processes which make it harder than normal steel. It can also be shaped more easily than regular steel because it doesn't require any special tools or techniques to shape; simply hammer away at it until what you want forms itself
Stee
Steel is another material that can be made from iron ore; however, this
