In the ancient times, people always made swords out of metal when forging them. But now, we don't use metal because it is too expensive. We use a mixture of carbon and silicon to make steel. This mixture makes the steel stronger than a pure version
And this mixture also makes the blade weaker than a pure version. The reason for this is because the carbon and silicon are not equal parts in the mixture. So when you forge your sword, you have to make sure that all the carbon and silicon are in equal parts so that your sword will be strong enough to withstand blows from an opponent and still cut through it like butter
This is why people don't make swords out of metal anymore!
why dont people cast metal when forging swords
