Molded plastic parts manufacturing is a process in which liquid materials are formed into movable shapes for products such as toys, garden tools and grip handles. The material is then extruded into a sheet that can be shaped and reformed to create various parts. This is done by using an injection molding machine or an extrusion machine. The material can either be thermoplastic or thermoset. The most common materials used in molded plastic parts manufacturing are ABS, PC and nylon.
The injection molding machine uses hot melt technology to form plastic into the desired shape. The hot melt plastic is melted using heat sources such as flame heaters or electric resistances to heat the molten material up to around 250 degrees Celsius (482 degrees Fahrenheit). To cool down this melted material, it is sprayed with water so it can cool down quickly without burning itself on any other part of the machine. Once cooled down, it can be molded into its final shape using pressure and gravity by injecting air into the cavity where the components are placed together
Thermoset plastics are more durable than thermoplastics because they contain long-chain molecules (called polymers) that give
