China gets cnc milled, making them the biggest users of industrial robots in the world
China is raising the stakes in its race to build the world's largest robot workforce by investing $500 million in high-tech factories that will use fully automated production lines to mass produce cnc milled products
The country has already made significant advances in automation, with a third of all industrial robots now operating in China. But its ambitions are far from satisfied: it wants more than half of all industrial robots on earth by 2020, according to a report by Autofac, which sells components for metalworking machines and designs automated manufacturing systems
"China is investing heavily in automation," said Peter Hogg, an analyst at IHS Global Insight. "But it's not just about cost savings; they're also looking at how they can make their products more competitive."
