CNC stands for Computer Numerical Control and is used to describe any machine that uses a computer to control its movements. This can be a little confusing because it's also used to describe robots that use their own independent movement systems rather than being controlled by the computer
The most common types of CNC machines are those that cut metal but you can also find ones that cut wood, plastic, glass etcetera. The basic idea behind them is that they have a programmable controller which allows them to move along a programmed path or movement path as we call it in this context.
