CNC Plastic Machining, how it works
CNC plastic machining is a type of 3D printing where the material is melted and then extruded through a machine to create an object. This process can be used on a variety of materials including polymers and metals
The CNC Plastic Machining process starts with an STL file or other CAD file that has been created using computer-aided design software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD. The file is then transmitted to a 3D printer that uses heat and pressure to build up the object layer by layer
Once the machine has built up all the layers of the object, it cools down and removes any excess plastic from around the edges so that it will be smooth when it is finished. The final piece will have a consistent thickness throughout its entire surface so that it can be used for applications such as injection molding or casting.
